01/08/2017 - 11:30

The new Barracuda 7 will be shown at the upcoming Boot in Düsseldorf and announces the renewal of the highly dynamic and constantly progressing Barracuda family. Drawing from the experience of the Barracuda Tours, this new fisher and adventurer offers two versions with different layouts, in addition to more than thirty customization options perfectly in keeping with owners’ desires.

Last year, the Barracuda Tour, a no kill fishing competition organized every year by Beneteau, brought together more than 2,500 eager participants from all over the world. This is event is a fabulous way to observe the behaviour and expectations of sport fishers and it has provide the developers at Beneteau with the opportunity to innovate and adapt the Barracuda line to meet their needs. With a rethought towable hull, a new fishing station, and a more spacious pilothouse that opens completely, the new Barracuda 7 is cleverly designed and very comfortable.

Stabl e and Fast
Benefiting from Beneteau’s vast experience in thedevelopment of hulls specific to each type of programme, this new Barracuda 7 is built on the latest hull perfected for outboard motorboats under 9 metres in length. Quick to plane and stable to drive, she is safe underway, but makes no concessions to sensations. Proposed with a single electronically controlled engine between 150 and 200 HP, the Barracuda 7 reaches top speeds of 40 knots, making it quick and easy to get to fishing spots. Her 200-litre tank gives her great autonomy.

Interior Space
The new Barracuda 7 has larger reorganized spaces. The straight fully glazed pilothouse, whose style met with great success, houses a larger helm station with a very comfortable co-pilot’s seat. The two side doors opening onto the port and starboard walkways make movement on board easier and allow for fishing on either side of the boat. Completely independent from the pilothouse with an entrance just below the co-pilot’s seat is a huge stowage space that can be converted into a double berth. It is also where the heads are located.

Two Versions
Although the Barracuda 7’s pedigree makes her a formidable fishing boat, she can also be adapted to more relaxed programmes. Beneteau offers two very clever versions of the interior. Designed to simplify movement and fishing manoeuvres as much as possible, the 3-door version has a pilothouse with a three-leaf sliding glass door so that it communicates with the cockpit. The interior of the pilothouse on the 2-door version is designed for up to 5 people. It is closed off at the stern, with a full width bench seat. The light oak woodwork and extremely durable carbon grey upholstery gives the interior a pleasant modern atmosphere.

New fishi ng st ati on
Inspired by the layout of its predecessor, the Barracuda 8, a removable seat aft of the cockpit makes the fishing station modular. In a fishing configuration, this really open space offers a pleasant seat to relax on, in addition to the two side benches and sliding bench. With a live-bait well, live catches can be preserved in ideal conditions. Whatever the programme, the cockpit freshwater spray is always extremely practical. Equipped with the Lowrance electronic pack with a 7” or 9” HDS screen, the Barracuda 7 delivers improved fishing accuracy and efficiency.

Three finishes and more than thirty options
Each of the two versions - 2 or 3 doors - is available in three Barracuda Tour Fishing, Cruising and Essential finishes. Through a combination of thirty or more options, these special editions offer customizations and adaptations, uniting all the ingredients to match the Barracuda 7’s programme. In addition to fishing accessories, the Barracuda 7 can also be fitted with a bow drive, an electric windlass and many other options.

Delivering the performance of an adventurer, the new Barracuda 7 combines pleasure and customization perfectly. A sport fisher designed with maximum comfort in mind, following its launch in Düsseldorf, it will be one of the major attractions of the Salon Européen des Pêches (European Saltwater Fishing Show) in Nantes from 3 to 5 March 2017. It will also be used, along with the Barracuda 8, for the 2017 Barracuda Tour, which will take place in Le Crouesty this year, from 12 to 21 May.
